Anonymous, Nanaimo, BC, Canada
If individuals are forced to come off methadone in 1 year you will have many people return to using drugs. The government doesn't have the right to decide when a person becomes sober-and there shouldn't be a time limit on it. Along with a mass return to addiction, there will be a huge increase in costs for treatment, homelesness, and emergency medical care. All this will cost much more in tax dollars than methadone treatment ever did.

Mr Robert Soper, Portland, Oregon, United States of America
Please do not intrude into doctors' decisions! Addiction experts universally acknowledge that methadone is a LIFE SAVING medicine when used properly. Some people need to take it for life, just as a diabetic needs insulin for life.

The DEA, police and politicians should not intervene because they are not medics, and have their own rather then the patients best interest at heart.

Mr. Jason Lambert, Scotia, NY, United States of America
This bill will surely cost more money and do much more harm than good. It has been proven that methadone maintenance treatment reduces crime, fatalities and other undesirable effects of heroin use. Keeping someone on methadone for as long as needed has a better outcome than pulling the rug out from under them once they finally get their life under control.

Anonymous, wrightsville, pa, United States of America
This ridiculous bill needs to be shot down because it is based on the lobbying efforts of HARMD.A group of grieving parents who are obsessed with getting rid of methadone regardless of the fact that it has been proven to work.If this bill passes it will send opiate treatment back to the dark ages.

Mr. William Robbins, Milwaukee, Wi, United States of America
This bill goes way beyond saving tax payers money. Who are politicians to make medical decisions? I urge you to pass a bill aimed only at fixing the publics role of funding transportation. This should not effect people that pay cash and do not have the state footing the bill.
