For politicians who supposedly care about education, how can our children get the education they need with the constant noise of aircraft that continually fly over the school at all times (especially during school hours). Why is it that mainland C-5A transports can land using only half the bay while local training of c-17s use the entire bay and goes over homes to an extremely long flypath to land? Also there needs to be more communication between the air force and the navy as to how changes in flight patterns (frequency, schedule, path, etc) affect the community at large (last minute town meetings posted in one newspaper with very little notice does not count).

The runway at present is not up to regulations. The cummulative noise of these proposed aircraft must be considered. Rather than landing on this postage stamp size area, Whidbey Island with its vast area around the runway would be a better place for these planes. Please do not put them at Kaneohe.

While I understand the militay's need for practice and proficiency, the use of air space over Kaneohe Bay is hardly the ideal location for these manuevers. The Koolau create a natural amphitheater for broadcasting the thunderous noise that come with these maneuvers over tens of thousands of residents homes, schools, parks, where we work and play at all hours of the day and night. I have spent many a sleepless night listening to the roar of engines being blown-out across the bay. Why they don't use the east end of the runway and blow their engines across the ocean is beyond reason. Barbers Point would be the obvious choice. Flights off the southern shore of Oahu would be done over the ocean with little impact on residents in the area. It just makes more sense to open Barber's Point back up.

Noone will know the affect on the community till we actually hear these aircraft. We do know that stationing 3000 additional personnel at MCBH will impact our rentals and quadrupling the training activities to be conducted 24/7 will dramatically increase noise.

We are concerned about the loud noise, pollution, and safety issues involved. It is not fair that the residents in this area are going to be affected. We feel that it it is irresponsible for training to occur in an area with large numbers of people. It would be unforgivable if an aircraft were to crash into someones home.

The current use of the base runway for training approach flights by large transports is already a major disruption to our lives. If those flights were consistently well over the water it might be ok but most of them come right over my house. Th Osprey addition would have very serious effect on the quality of life here and on the value of our property.
