Mr Ben Spooner, London, United Kingdom
I object to this on so many levels.

1. A moral basis due to the behavior of Durkan. This cannot under any circumstances be encouraged by acquiescence. It will set an awful precedent in the otherwise beautiful area of Victoria Park.

2. The design is atrocious and very out of keeping with the local area.

3. A height more than 4 storeys will indeed block the light of so many of the surrounding neigbours, one of which is me.

4. The lack of social housing is an outrage.

Mr S Sutton, Bow, United Kingdom
Oppose the character, size & density of this development. Perhaps inevitable something will be built here at some point, but let's ensure it fits with the beautiful park it'll preside over. Besides blocking light to people, plants, trees and the canal, I fear the materials destined to be used, the harsh, unsypathetc geometry, ANY cladding, and too much glass. It needs to be smaller and built to a similar spec as older buildings around, and on which the area derives many of its historical names.

Mr Ashley Cooke, Bow, London
Durkan has consistantly flouted the democratic process through out this planning application. Their public consultation amounted to little more than a paragraph in a local paper, and their contributions to local infrastructure amount to small scale corporate bribary. The communities objections were upheld by the council, I see no recoure for Durkam to now invoke the democratic process. This remains underhand and deceitful and should be thrown out with the application.

A highly populated development will have a negative impact on the availability of public transport for the local residents. The appeal is not about enhancing the conservation area in question but is based on a combination of bad business decisions and greed. Durkan want local residents to pay for their mistakes, in terms of a reduction in their own property value and would leave a disgraceful scar on the landscape.

What is spectacularly unpalatable is the charade of the public consultation between the failed application and the one recently approved. Durkan's actions have trampled on the goodwill of the local community who were prepared to work to achieve a sympathetic site solution.

There is a derth of new housing in this area at the moment. I don't believe there are substantial grounds for it to be built to that height. If they do so, then they will not have kept within the consultation boundaries. In addition I feel that the consultation boundaries have been abused and the size/scope of the development do not go towards preserving what is currently a very pleasant area. Please take my signature as a very strong oppositional stance

The reasons this was rejected are still valid. The height of buildings is excessive, the materials out of character for the area. Public transport, the number 8 bus route will not cope with the increased population. When around the junction of st stephens road and old ford road locals and passers by have a good view of the park which is key to this part of bow. There are a number of other developments along old ford rd facing the park, so there is no need for another. The developers only want to line there own pockets and do not care about the locals as well as the fact that a number of business on the purposed site will have to move. These business provide vital jobs.

Ms Heather March
Disgusted that once again Durkan have lied to local residents. We have been treated appallingly by these developers, who are deliberately riding rough-shot over local residents. They have already received planning permission for a 4 storey building & are now appealing the decision against them for a 7 storey building. They were refused planning permission on the basis of scale - and rightly so. The site is on the edge of a park & is a conservation area. 7 storeys will be a blot on the landscape

Miss Liza Franchi, London, United Kingdom
This development was strongly objected by local residents twice but recently approved. Now the developers are planning to build additional floors - against what was discussed in a "consultation". Scope, size and impact of local transport are the biggest issues. Many of us bought properties in this area due to the daylight, privacy and ability to see the park/trees of the park, this greedy development destroys these advantages. We strongly oppose this development, especially this size.

Mr Mark Ellis, Gunmakers Lane, London, United Kingdom
After months of 'token' consultations with local residents to understand our objections, Durkan choose to go behind our backs and above local Govt. councillor's heads to push for a 6-storey monstrosity that will stick out like a sore thumb. Big business tries to steamroll a small community again, putting profits before one of London's most beautiful parks. Face it, you've bought too high, too late, the market's collapsed and you're left with a hole. We'll fight this all the way.

Mrs Linda Griffiths
I am bitterly disappointed and appalled by this last minute attempt by Durkan to go back to their original plan of 6 - 7 storeys. The original objections from both residents and the Councillors at Tower Hamlets were based on planning policy and I trust that these will be upheld at appeal.
You have to ask why Durkans went through the charade of the new design for which they were granted planning in May 09 after lengthy consultation with residents and interested parties? Was this all a sham?

Mr Pablo Garcia, London
The original development 7-storey high is not appropriate for the a conservation area, with respect to its size and density, becoming instrusive to the area.

Once again the developer gives testimony to greed with a lack civil responsibilty. Its willingness to ignore a well balanced decision by the Tower of Hamlets and the public.
