Beyond the eyesore, the additional volumes of people/traffic resulting will surely only make worse the current untenable situation. If this is the "price" for station improvement then "no thanks"!

Ricahrd Swift, Battersea, London
I believe the towers are not in keeping with the surrounding environment and not enough upgrading to the rail station is included in the plans. The station struggles at present to cope with the passenger numbers at peak times... how will it cope without additional upgrading and the additional passengers brought by two mutli-story tower blocks.

Julia Barron, London
Clapham Junction Station has been in need of redevelopment for many years and it is the obligation of Network Rail to improve access for the tens of thousands of passengers who use the station every day. A commercial development on this scale is completely inappropriate and far from improving the lives of commuters, it will add to congestion and ruin the character of the area. Any claim by the developers that they are altruistically helping the area is entirely and transparently disingenuous.

Hilary Clarke, London
Redevelopment of the station is of paramount importance, but low rise sustainable housing would be more suitable for this suburban neighbourhood. The proposed development will dwarf the existing urban fabric, flood the area with cars and be an economic white elephant. PPS guidance states that towers are appropriate only in clusters and where a strategic marker is desirable. Clapham Junction does not fall into these criteria and the towers would therefore be rejected at any public inquiry.

The focus should be the renewal of the railway environment, which should be financed by the Government and/or Network Rail. They should build the remaining infrastructure, and reap the profits.

storeys and even this would have a significant impact on the feel of the area. People will regret it for generations if this is allowed to go through.
