Alec N. Salt PhD and his collaborators (Cochlear Fluids Research Laboratory - USA - http://oto2.wustl.edu/cochlea/) have demonstrated how inaudible low frequency sound stimulates the human ear with disastrous effects for some. Not clear about the long term damage via low frequency sound, that is, for those people not initially affected.

The Shirley wind park in Wisconsin USA was investigated by four teams of acoustic experts who reported e.g. that as turbines get larger, they produce a dangerous very low frequency sound. This very LF sound is (via previous studies e.g. Air Force) known to adversely affect people and causes e.g. the feeling of motion sickness while not moving (without the relief of vomiting).

The wind may be "free" but it also has a low density so the machines to extract the energy are massive and are thus hugely expensive -Ten to Twenty times the capital cost of a gas generating plant of the same capacity, thus the cost of generating electricity from wind is 3 to 6 times the cost from an conventional power plant.

So wind power does NOT result in less CO2 NOx etc and is hugely expensive so why does anyone bother with it. The answer is SUBSIDIES that make the power companies and the land owner rich and the average citizen poorer.

Not only are the citizens made to pay extra but they suffer the health and amenity disadvantages that go with wind turbines. Illness due to flicker and noise and the ugliness of these machines.

They do no good so ban them now.

THIS AREA OF THE WORLD IS BEAUTIFUL, QUIET AND NEEDS TO REMAIN FREE OF WIND TURBINES! I HAVE INTERVIEWED PEOPLE IN SEVERAL LOCATIONS AROUND THE WORLD WHO LIVE 10 KM AND FURTHER FROM THE NEAREST WIND TURBINE WHO ARE SICK. THEY REPORT THAT IT IS DUE TO THE WIND TURBINES. THERE IS AMPLE SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE THAT WIND TURBINES MAKE PEOPLE SICK.

I did not object to its being built. I support renewable energy. Since the windfarm began operation, many of my neighbours, my partner and I now experience disrupted sleep, headaches, tinnitus etc and a general decline in health and well being. Large wind turbines/wind farms should not be situated anywhere near where people live and work. People across the world are suffering. Don't let this happen.
