The time in the woods with my family is great and we generally hunt back as far as we can go on the public land to feel safe. We have seen bears over the years, and they have always fled onto the private property. Having a fence along this entire property would change the flow of all animals in this area including bears. The animals would be cornered in some scenarios and have no where to go but through those that they encounter. Changing the natural flow of wildlife on such a beautiful piece of Public Land with many wet lands, ridges, valleys and all species of trees would be a travesty. One persons greed should not cause potential harm to generations of hikers and hunters. In a time when we are looking to promote outdoor activities for our youth, we should not allow an individual to destroy the value of the public property adjoining them. If you have not walked this property it is quite unique and it would be terrible to see it fenced off from multiple directions.

This will undeniably affect the migrating patterns of bear, white-tailed deer, and other species. If there is a fence, these animals will have to follow the fence line to resources. This would be yet another example of human interference with the instinctive habits of animals. The fence would be a blatant nuisance to deer and bear hunters alike as it would reduce and/or eliminate certain property owners' chances of even spotting the animals, considering they could not leap over the 10' tall fence. It would be unjust to these property owners. Finally, there is a lot to be said about a natural landscape with little to no urban/suburban development. It is our duty as human inhabitants of the area to preserve its beauty. As far as I and many others are concerned, it would be a shame to see such a valuable natural area fall victim to development.
