Even with chemotherapy she only lived 7 months & sadly died 20th of january this year. the last 3 weeks were a absolutely horrendous the amount of pain mum was in. then it got to the stage where she couldnt swallow, talk or even recognise me. Mum was a wildlife officer & if there was an animal in pain with no hope of recovery you would put them to sleep. simple as that.

after 25 years surviving throat cancer, he developed an inopperable tumor, and was in extreme pain unable to eat, drink,talk or swallow. He did not want a stomach feeding tube to prolong the inevidable, but deserved better than to decompose while alive in hospital. Distressing to all involved, including nurses.

In truth, he has not really been alive for six months. He had three lots of amputations, due to gangrene, over a six month period. Had he lived, he would have had his one remaining leg off. My point is that, here in the UK, if you kept a dog in that condition, you would be prosecuted. If it is "hiumane" to end an animals suffering, why not a human? I do not understand the distinction.
My Uncle asked the doctors to end it for him. They couldn't do it.
