I suffer with pinched and damaged nerves throughout my entire back, neck, arms and legs, fibromyalgia and cluster migraine headaches. 20 times out of a month it feels like someone poured gasoline on me and set it on fire, the sensitivity to touch I feel is horrible. Not everyone has a problem with these medications, hydrocodone by itself does not cause people to die of overdose it's the mixing of multiple pain medications and or muscle relaxants that cause an interaction where people are overdosing and having these problems. Some doctors need to understand these interactions and not prescribe them together and the patient's need to be aware of this also.

We have folks killing themselves because they can't deal with pain. Their blood is on the DEA'S hands. They created the problem. We are forced to go to pain management, 90% deny pain meds after surgery, injections, etc, which are extremely painful. If the procedures fail and cause us more pain, we are still denied our pain meds. The DEA blames the Doctors. Why? The DEA is NOT doing their job. They need to allow PA'S, MD,S, PHD'S and Family Health Clinics prescribe Hydrocodone. There are not enough Pain Management Doctors to take in all pain patients. The DEA needs to explain to every Dr. that they are to prescribe each pain patient according to pain level. How many people are going to turn to alcohol, street drugs and suicide before the DEA listens to and hears us to get their mess cleaned up? RESCHEDULE HYDROCDONE BACK TO CLASS III. I am 81 years old and not able to have any operations unless it's an emergency. I am also allergic to many medications. The hydrocodone 10/325mg is the only pain medication I can take. Now I have to travel over 50 miles to a Pain Mgt Doctor that can do nothing but prescribe me my medicine because it's to much of a hassle and paperwork for my PCP to do. This is torrture!! I am not an abuser. I take 3-4 pills per day, but now due to these new restrictions, my doctor is reducing me to 50 pills per month, meaning my medication is being cut by about 60%. Even with the medication I hurt a lot, but with the medication cut by 60%, I'm going to suffer even more. And why? Because some doctors have over-prescribed and some abusers have over-medicated themselves. I shouldn't be forced to suffer because others have abused the system. Surely, there is a way to leave the power in the doctor's hands to determine which patients truly need the medication and which don't. All you're accomplishing here is making the lives of chronic pain sufferers that much worse. I hope you feel good about yourselves.

Because I trusted the doctors then, I had a sacroplasty. It ruined my life. I'm 37 years old with a 5 year old and a 1 year old. I have chronic irreversible irrrepairable nerve damage. I also have hip dysplasia. I am terrified to live the rest of my days in pain. Norco has worked wonderfully for me, and it's a relief to just call in a refill request when it's time. If this new law goes into effect, I will spend countless hours/dollars for a doctor visit.

What's more, I believe the government should stay out of the medical field. I'd love to meet with a Law maker that has suffered the pain I do. I wish they would listen to us, legitimate patients.

People who are in chronic pain need and deserve the pain relief this medications offers, and many physicians will not write prescriptions for Schedule II drugs.
