The freedom of musicians to have venues to play in is key to the survival of our city unless we want to become some sort of Disney version of ourselves. If they want to regulate amplification then that is something that can be looked at. Not that swing is often played with out amplification. If you buy a condo on Frenchmen Street you can expect to hear some music. If you want quiet move to Kenner.

When I hear the music of a brass band echoing down those ancient streets bouncing off buildings it gives me goosebumps. Music is everywhere. Without it, it will never be the same. The absence of music will be a turn off to the thourists who flock to your great city. As someone who visits every few months, the brass band at Bourbon and Canal is something I always look forward to. When I find Peter Rabbit and his bucket drums I get so excited to hear him play and watch him put on a show. It will be a grave mistake to take this original experience away from your frequent tourists as well as your future ones. If there's a problem with musicians deal with it as it comes along with that specific person or group, however it isn't fair to punish everyone for the mistakes of a few. Just as the issue with seating on the sidewalks this will be a turn off to all who visit, locals as well as tourists alike. My vote is not NO, but HELL NO.

He bought the property in that year and BMC was a club at that time as well. The police raised money for decibel meters a few years back so it makes no sense that shut down clubs without actual readings and on a subjective basis. Save our music and our culture and don't allow the doctor and his puppet atty to alter the culture of our city for their own control issues. No one forced him to buy property in the Quarter adjacent to music venues and he shouldn't try to erase the culture of our great city.
