I have worked hard to educate my customers as well as my market board about the limitations of producing honey in the Pacific Northwest. My market board and customers appreciate knowing where their honey comes from and how the hives were treated. It's too bad this board isn't interested in having an informed clientele. Research by the State Market Board has shown that having two sellers of a similar product improves sales for the market overall. Very short sighted of this board.

I started the Ballard Market with Judy a very long time ago. If you have any question about Me Plaese call any of the Farmers markets. You choose. For you to NOT have natural Honey from beekeepers that are barely surviving and doing it without chemicals is a sin. A magnitude that you do not understand. Those beekeepers produce a little honey and can not set up to do markets like I use to. I had 180 hives and produced many barrels of honey to support me doing all the markets. What Karen is doing is beyond wonderful to help some beekeepers to keep our pollinators alive. Each one of these beekeepers are part of the solution in keeping our food source going. They are all working to keep the bees alive without chemicals that have failed after 3 years in the past. I hope you take the time to look at Buss -Kill by Dan Rather on YouTube. You will understand why we need all the beekeepers we can have to work on a solution to the problem. They need there honey sold to keep doing their job.
