Bill-119 states a law demanding all small business owners and independent contractors working in the trade to switch from what ever private insurance company they are using, to now use the WSIB insurance company. The WSIB was gouging before, but now they are gouging beyond reason now. They are forcing private insurers out of business by taking all of their clients, by forcing contractors to use the WSIB coverage. The premiums are ridiculous and they offer services that benefit people in no way what so ever in relation to private insurers. The WSIB is making it extremely difficult for small businesses to operate because of their high premiums, and in many cases the WSIB insurance costs more than car insurance. Because of this it is potently crippling to small businesses and independent contractors such as my self. Between income tax, h.s.t and now the WSIB our income will drop drastically. That combined with the expenses of living and monthly bills, people may even lose their homes. This is complete robbery and it should be against the law for the WSIB to do this to people. Please sign the petition to rule bill-119 out.

Proof of private insurance should qualify independent operators and others for exemption - having private insurance that covers you 24/7 (not just while at work) is a clearly superior setup and should be encouraged for entrepreneurs - not punished as this bill unfortunately does.

I thought our Government was friendly towards entrepreneurs, this isn't friendly, it's hostile, and i hope it will never pass, i should never become mandatory... c/mon, we need more freedom so this country can prosper, not more restriction and bills that discourages growth.

If you havent opened an account with WSIB, they dont know you are running a business without there coverage. Contractors paying 9.7 percent is ridiculous. Especially seeing as, as soon as you have a claim against you, your rate will skyrocket, and you will be fined significantly. There should be a low rate that is equal to all trades across the board. Electricians pay 3% they deal with much higher risk than carpenters. So why do carpenters pay 3 times the premium? Its a scam, and we need it to be stopped
