Getting to Wakefield in rush hour traffic is hurrendus, my only other option would to get the train from Leeds, which is just as worse. On the way back i get the express, and have to get picked up from Wakefield!!!

How are we supposed to catch a train at the new earlier time unless we work in the station itself? I might be forced to stop using the train and get a bus or drive. I have to get home in good time to see my son before he goes to bed and if I am a further half hour later or more as the next train will no doubt be over subscribed. The service is already bad enough in the mornings. 1 train every hour is shocking for one of the busiest stations.

We are one of very few stations in Zone 3 not to have a 30 minute frequency service, Normanton & Altofts represent more than 10% of the Wakefield population, we have the potential to have services running every 30 minutes and taking only 15 minutes to Leeds and 45 minutes to Sheffield respectively, and thereby be one of the best connected towns in the area.

Changing the time will cause great difficulty for passengers who work typical office hours 9-5pm. Instead of solving the capacity issue, it will mean the 17.34 train usually on platform 17, will replace the 17.15 train passengers, thus suffering with the cramped busy conditions. The majority of passengers get off at Normanton, why not have a specific carriage for those passengers or an extra service or an extra carriage to filter them.
