Never saw this man who wanted one of my kindergarteners before. I knew who Dad was and I knew who Mom was but never saw this man. The child was unable to communicate properly. I drive a small bus. I refused to give him to the man and said to have mom call the terminal and ok it and I will bring the child back by. No call came. I did NOT give the child to this man. Mom was not happy. But, I pointed out to her how safe her child was and that he is always safe in our hands, I did meet up with Mom later in the route.

our afternoon pickup for kindergarden has had dozens of cars race around the bus at a stop in front of our house my kids are at risk of being hit everyday
the bus companies are paid millions to safely transport our children
a simple camera could be reviewed to see what went on and problem solved

If it were your child and an actual stranger showed up at the bus stop claiming to be a relative, would you want the bus driver to let them leave with the person? When in doubt do the most responsible thing like she did.

I understand the family side to a certain extent but they should have had the Grandma on the list at the school. Rules are rules and this bus driver needs commended not losing her bus run.

If my children's bus driver did not recognize a person trying to pick them up I would pray that she would do EXACTLY what this bus driver did and keep them on the bus. What she did just shows that she cares for her students and their safety and she should be getting praised and not punished!
