I have been caught in the middle of my granddaughter's dad having residential custody of her, and having to work hard and diligently to have visitation with her. He didn't help out for anything the first two years of her life, and rarely seen her. I raised her and have had a VERY close relationship with her up until he took custody, due to some issues my daughter was having and because at that time he was in my granddaughter's life fully and i felt he should know the situation my daughter was in and he should have the baby until she got straightened out. This was in March of 2013. Since then, for a few months, he was good at letting me see her once or twice a week. Now, I text him asking about her, and he never replies. I only see my granddaughter now when my daughter has visitation and she chooses that day, only once a week she is given, to be with me for the visitation. She sometimes has it with her dad, and then I don't see her until she has it again with me. Long story, I know, and there is so much more. It is extremely important for grandparents to have rights, we love our grandchildren and hurt deeply without.

His parents aren't bad parents they have just made a few bad choices and now will have to pay for it for the rest of their lives. THIS IS WRONG!!! Everyone deserves a second chance and just because my daughter doesn't have the money for an attorney….she doesn't even get to defend herself in court. My sister is very wealthy and has paid for lawyers to get this child from her own blood. THIS IS WRONG and should be stopped.
