And what about the church on the Bayle. are the parishioners and OAPs expected to have to pay to come to church!? whatever they will be forced to pay, it will result in their being less in the collection plate every week, which will have a devastating effect on the work of the church in the local community, less charity donations and less fundraising for restoration work. I wonder if they have though of that?

The problems that these plans will not just affect motorists but all those who work in the town centre. this will move the kerbside parking further away from the present on street parking areas therefore just moving the problem else where. i would suggest that as has been suggested before the leas be turned into a free car park. this will not increase the councils coffers one jot and in fact because of enforcement cost it more. abandon this plan

We all know that the financial situation of the Council is a difficult one, but making residents and visitors pay for on road parking is an extra tax when driving a car, and the price of fuel already means all motorists are in danger of being taxed off the roads. The shops that still exsist are paying very high rates without much return and support from Shepway. How can the town regenerate when it is being crippled every step of the way. Shepway is very greedy with parking charges until 8pm when the town is empty by 6pm, they are not encouraging locals to use the restaurants, pubs, Quarterhouse and cafes in the town. THINK!!
