The board of doctors used the results of a test that should not have been ordered in her condition to decide on a cancer treatment plan. Because of this, radiation treatment, which was what she went there for, which was what she basically begged for (she was a physician herself), was not provided and the choice was made to instead give her chemotherapy. Her cancer ended up spreading beyond control and she passed away. The Wrongful Death Act discriminates against the deceased and against those of us who are left behind with crumbled lives. This act cannot guarantee quality of care for those over the age of 25 that are not married or childless, because physicians and hospitals know that they will be protected from everything that they do wrong. For all we know, these unqualified doctors keep practicing medicine, with a legal license to keep 'killing' people. How can a state guarantee quality medical care with a law that basically says that those that do not meet the requirements to seek justice after medical malpractice are worthless?

We lost valuable days trying to transfer her from one hospital in Jacksonville to the other supposedly better hospital in Miami as they said we weren't allowed to transport her to another facility unless that facility could do any treatment different from what they were already doing.
