They knew things were coming and could have avoided tons of issues that ended up coming up but they wanted to worry about other things and not about customers. They hired the most expensive consulting firm ever to assist them in things going smoothly when they converted more things to automation and the consulting team consisted of young 25-35 year olds with huge egos that never listened to what anyone who worked there and actually did the work had to say. And then after Deloitte gets this huge contract with EDD and get paid all that money (even though EDD says they are broke) they ended up doing nothing to help and the whole "new system" thing hurt the department instead of helping it. And the customers were the ones who suffered. But the EDD didn't care, they just want to do damage control now. Little does the public know these employees are now working overtime and make over $60-$80/hour and work Saturdays and Sundays and still people can't get through on the phone how is that right?
