When I came out all other cars had been moved to the otherside and i got a ticket because i was unaware of this. Where i live you have to live your vehicle after 5pm representing the date of the next day to that side. I feel this ticket was unjustified and the city ought to make better regulations.

I went to try and talk to the clerk about this situation and the clerk did not want nothing to do with allowing me to talk to anyone besides taking it to court and as a business owner I do not have the time to go to court for these nonsense tickets. The city of Corning want to make there area look good and that's what we do, we clean buildings and refinish floors, but I will not continue to get tickets like this just for trying to make my home town look better.

Where is this law stated??? I can't find it anywhere. Trying to safely turn around 18,000 pounds of a truck and trailer on a side hill is unsafe when the level of street care is marginal at best. There is one gradual climb to my residence and that requires me to turn around once arriving there to face the correct direction while parking on the correct side. I would like to think the city would favor safety over revenue.....

I do not understand why the narrow streets are not alternating one way streets (like every other city I have every driven through). My only theory is that us "odd" people would be annoyed if parking was permanently moved to the "even" side and vice versa. That being said, Corning residents pay a lot in taxes. Figure something out that makes sense and does not inconvenience residents. If that cannot be accomplished, then at least use all of revenue from tickets and city taxes to post more signs because the current method of informing the public should be illegal.

I rarely shop on Market St. because of the lack of parking. The decision this year not to give FREE PARKING during the holiday season was ridiculous. I did all my shopping at the mall and on-line this year.
