The board members might think that cutting back on the paraprofessionals hours is not something to worry about but they would be wrong. That's how it starts out. Over time more cuts would be made and then the special needs group of children suffer even more. Some of these children's needs aren't being ment now because they fall in the gray area and the schools can't do anything for them. Instead of cutting down on helping these children, we should be focusing on helping more of them out!

I'm not liking the fact that our government is targeting the weak group of people that really need help! I have autism myself and I find this to be a cruel and heartless thing to do!

I am a visually impaired student, and I have a Paraprofessional that works with me. She prepares pretty much all of my assignments, and puts them in a format that will be accessible to me. Sometimes, there are last minute assignments that do come up, and she is always right there to type them up for me! She has been working with me for 11 years now, and has had years of training, so if anyone else were my parapro, I would fall extremely behind!
