It's a silly, short-sighted move that eliminates green space, a sports facility, and the only driving range in the city of Toronto. This decision will put more cars on our crowded highways as we all drive 30 k north to find a practice range. From the sounds of it the Build Toronto bunch is planning to slap a Walmart on the land. So which serves the neighborhood kids more, yet another retail outlet, or a place to get exercise?
I strongly urge every golfer who uses this range to contact city councillor Gary Crawford to express your outrage at this decision. Gary Crawford is on record as supporting the redevelopment. He should be told to reconsider. If the city wants to spend hundreds of millions reclaiming this old garbage dump to make it suitable for a Walmart (some irony there huh?) perhaps they should be forced to find a suitable piece of underused land nearby that can be made available.
Closing the range is nonsensical. Let Gary Crawford and Build Toronto know how you feel.

I've been going to this place since they first opened. Take away whatever other activities but DO NOT TAKE AWAY THIS ONE! kids go and enjoy the mini putt while the parents practice on the range. This place helps to keep kids off the street, atleast it gives them something to do at a reasonable price. Please dont ruin wonderful memories of my childhood and others too!!
