There is a definite need for childcare assistance for those who no longer qualify for state assistance. As a childcare provider I have first hand knowledge of the of the suffering that occurs within the family unit due to the lack of. The sadness is that children do not receive the preparation they need to begin public school. It is impossible for a mother working a minimum wage job with even one child to afford to pay childcare. The state has done a great injustice to these mothers by not continuing to offer some type of assistance for the working mother who is trying to better herself and make a better life for her family. It is my desire that the state offers assistance to working mothers until the child (children) all reach school age and no longer require all day care. The state has now made it too difficult for these young mothers to attend school or work because they can not afford childcare.
I would so appreciate the opportunity to speak with you and share my ideas and opinions regarding our childcare assistance program in Tennessee.
