Why don't you use a closer school, one where you kids can walk? Or take the issue up with the school - they're getting your money after all!

Miss Sara Rönneke, Norwich, Norfolk, United Kingdom
Whilst I do in every way appreciate the need for new care homes, and support in principle the plan to add one to the abovementioned site, I believe the proposed size and layout is not in proportion to the available land and surroundings. I would suggest a smaller complex made up of several buildings, nestled beautifully among the trees. The mature tree, which the petition calls for to continue to be protetcted, would, I am certain, provide much joy for the new residents.

Mr David Baker, Norwich, Norfolk, United Kingdom
I would like to express my concern regarding the possible increased level of traffic in Ivy Road. Currently, it can be hazardous driving up and down due to parked cars and exiting onto Bowthorpe Road can take considerable time due to continuous levels of traffic on this road. Many trees will be felled if the planned building work takes place. It would be better if any designs could incorporate the existing trees, especially as there seems to be plenty of space to accommodate this.

Mrs Yukari Kawabata, Norwich, Norfolk
How can they even think of cutting down this lovely protected tree? It is beautiful in summer. With more thought, they could build a care home that is peaceful, pleasant and fitting well with its suroundings. Not this large complex though. I think the elderly residents will want more open grounds and relatives more room to park. With the big increase in traffic, I am worried that fire engines will need to use their sirens all along Ivy Road, disturbing both ourselves and the elderly residents.

It seems that NELM make a lot of their decisions on behalf of the community for which they represent 'without' ever speaking to any of them! I find this very strange! I do not oppose the construction of a Care home but think the size will be overbearing in the area. Traffic and highway safety with the North Earlham Fire Station cause me alarm. I think the impact overall will be greater than we think and has been planned for.

Any destruction to existing trees with protection orders should be avoided at all costs. Trees bring quality of life to residents that bigger buildings cannot. I am happy for a carehome but at 94 beds it is far too big, putting unacceptable pressure on Ivy Road. The office is not needed. The access drive position should be moved away from the firestation and parking much improved. Why have NELM not consulted us?
