I've heard you say that Ferry's situation will be sorted out by the new ownership. I advise that you don't enable the new ownership to make the mistake of losing Danny Ferry. Instead, bring him back and show ALL potential buyers that Ferry is exactly what this team and city needs to keep things going. After his "mistakes", Ferry gained the support of community leaders and prominent figures around the league. From what I can tell, every single person that has taken the time to sit down with Ferry has left the meeting on his side. The only people who are still standing against him are the ones who refuse to show the forgiveness and compassion that we hope to see in every person who surrounds us.
Mr. Koonin, I am one of your biggest fans. I believe you have done more to connect the Hawks to Atlantans than anyone ever has in my lifetime. You have finally started to validate my following of this team through all the rough times. You have been aggressive in your methods, and clearly they are paying off. So now, I ask for that same aggressiveness in regards to the return of Danny Ferry. Don't take a passive stance and let new faces leave you asking why you didn't act sooner.

The disciplinary action was more than adequate, plus accordingly swift. Clergy members who have opinions, yet little working knowledge of the NBA or the Hawks should not influence the opinion of decision makers. Mr. Ferry`s remarks were made in a closed mtg. where:

Any internal actions, discussion, words, or business should have remained closed for public consumption. In our country we are guaranteed certain civil liberties, one of which is "the Presumption of Innocence", also a trial by our peers and [not] in the media, nor a particular sub-sect of the community. Racism is a disease, therefore, we should not propagate such by heaping this foul charge upon a man simply for self aggrandizing hyperbole. I say Danny Ferry misspoke for whatever reason, it was unfortunate, confusing, and unsavory. Does it rise to racism, absolutely NO. A note for the clergy:
