My brother passed away from a car wreck this past July. He was 19 years old, and he had a slightly troubled past. Got in trouble a few times. That did not fact that he was a great man and deserves respect in his death. This writer shouldn't be allowed to work for any newspaper or publishing company again. Also the person who approved this to go in the paper should have disciplinary action on them also.

His "troubled past" had NOTHING to do with his death or the way he died, he died in a motorcycle accident an that's what the article should have been about along with what a good man, father etc that he was, not based on his past. I'm sure he nor his family would want this incident or any other from his PAST brought up at his departure. Expecially not one 10 years prior, THAT HE HAD ALREADY SERVED 8 YEARS AS A DAILY REMINDER! Did he even consider the original victim's families? Did they need to be reminded of the Fallen loved one because you needed a catchy headline? This salt on open wounds. Just do your homework and compare the headlines and articles of deceased African-Americans with a record, as opposed to other races; preferably Caucasian. I'm willing to bed everything in my bank account that the results will be a landslide. Where are the limits? Are there any boundaries? If not, are then are we only as good as criminal records? Something has to be done, other than justifications of "That was all the info we had." Is negativity the advertisement here? And FYI, no I had not met Jermaine a day in my LIFE!
