As a result have Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease from breathing fumes from a bomb. Coughed for several months, no medics on board our tanker loaded with high octane gas. Also, am deaf and legally blind. Any compensation for our service would be wonderful and well deserved.

I started as a merchant marine in July, 1947 in the SS Wake Forest Victory. I remember many of the my trip were in support of the after-war actions. The danger were still present on the water fill with mines and submarine’s un-exploded arsenal. Recognition of my contribution to this American history is all I’m asking.
