I have seen them live as pets, which is why I am so against it. They advertise that they are the perfect "pocket pet". Running on a wheel and jumping in a cage, is not the way these animals are meant to live. It is cruel to breed them for pets, living in an environment so unlike there natural habitat. They require a lot of work to bond with people and stay healthy. So many of them die or end up in shelters because they are not "as advertised". I would like to see the banning of selling all exotic animals as pets. The breeding conditions are horrible, resulting in cruelty and death for many of these animals. There is already more suffering than we can handle, with our domesticated animals, why would we add more. People can be so selfish.
