It's instinct!

Other than large ramps or vert, there's no need to wear a helmet. Why wear a helmet to roll down a curb? Your feet are at the bottom, if anything goes badly wrong, it's your feet or ankles that'll get hurt. Human instinct makes us put our arms out to protect our head. There's just no need for helmets!

Bottom line, losing your balance sucks, makes you fall, and can lead to injury like a motha. Helmets make it easier to lose it, meaning I fall more, and I've tried so it's true, and I don't like that.
