Nor do we appear to have any firm guarantees that the landscaping afterwards will be done to an acceptable standard. Also, what about the onlward management of the park? Bunding will not prevent anti-social behaviour. Bromley should provide fencing, lock the park or parts of it at night and have regular security patrols.

Robin Hale
Looking at the plans made available at the google groups site, it seems quite obvious that the regeneration consists of 'dumping' inert material to create large high borders around the park. Doing this encloses the park, creates more opportunity for crime and takes away the open feel that currently exists. There is little substance to the plans but over a years chaos to local residents. The case studies on Woodland Environmentals website seem to be for places already in a bad state or repair....

The Rugbyclub has been at Hoblingwell wood for well over 30 years, plus now with most of the local pubs being closed in the Area also acts as a social club for the local community. More importantly you cannot simply close a Rugby Club for 1 year more likely more and expect it to survive.
Orpington Rugby Club has used Hoblingwell Wood for forty years but will not be able to continue without pitches. Rugby Clubs cannot take a year off due to the leagues they play in. This scheme will, ultimately, destroy a facility that has done so much for the community over four decades.

I grew up there in the 1960's and 70's and it was my and my fathers local patch for birdwatching.
I think the planned regeneration scheme will restrict the wonderful views of local residents over the area and cause unnecessary disturbance to the whole area.
