Currently out dated rules for the Overseas Aid Budget (OAB) prevent the use of funds being used to alleviate the suffering and cost of re-building infrastructure caused by the devastation caused in the Caribbean to British Overseas territoires such as Turks and Caicos, British Virgin Isles and others.
These rules were originally included in the OAB regulations to prevent the misuse of funds when the OAB was first set up.
Other, more stringent laws covering fraud using public funds are now in place. The outdated rules are now restricting the disbursement of Aid to the British overseas territories in the Caribbean post Storm Irma, Jose and future disasters.
We the undersigned respectfully requested that HM goernment tables the necessary legislation to update the rules and regulations governing the disbursement of funds from the Overseas Aid Budget in support of future disaster relief for British citizens world wide.
