STOP LIAR LIAR

Liar Liar Cafe delivery trucks are deliberately blocking the public rear laneway behind Glenferrie Road.

BACKGROUND:

This lane is a public thoroughfare running between Kinkora Avenue and Mary Street Hawthorn. It is extremely busy with traffic attempting to pass through in the mornings, when Liar Liar Cafe receives deliveries from various companies who block the lane with their parked trucks.

Large amounts of residents attempt to depart their homes or return home, including the 21+ resident vehicles of the Kinkora Apartments who only have a single door to enter and exit (which gets blocked).

There are multiple businesses with staff that need to gain access to their car parks and are regularly forced to arrive late to their jobs thanks to this arrogant road-blocking practice.

Vehicles queue up out of the laneway onto Kinkora Avenue, causing traffic to be backed up as far back as Glenferrie Road, in-turn potentially affecting hundreds of morning commuters.

Drivers blast their horns, rev their engines and verbally abuse each other, not knowing that the source of the congestion is actually originating from the laneway.

The worst offender is “Sealane Food Service”, who’s driver is the most arrogant of all. Deliberately taking as long as he can and is the most aggressive towards anyone who doesn’t want to wait 15 minutes for him move.

LIAR LIAR’S RESPONSE:

Instead of instructing their delivery drivers to find a legal park on the street like many others considerately do, their staff stand with smug grins on their face, at times laughing while waiting drivers exhibit their fury.

When attempting to explain to Liar Liar management, we have been met with verbal abuse in the same selfish, aggressive manner that the drivers bestow upon us when we complain to them.

LIAR LIAR STOP: Your drivers from blocking the public lane and insist they park elsewhere to conduct their deliveries. You do not own the laneway so stop acting as such.
