A while back airlines raised their prices when the cost of fuel rose, however, since that time the cost of fuel has stabilized at nearly half of what it was at its highest point. Crude-oil prices fell more than 50% from their June 2014 highs to the low of around $44 a barrel set in January based on New York Mercantile Exchange values, and prices remain low, trading around $48 as of 11 March. The stabilization and subsequent fall in prices at the pump simply has not been recognized by airlines as ticket prices are still at the prices they were when fuel was at its highest. This has made for ridiculous ticket pricing for even the shortest of routes or for hub-to-hub flights. The consumer is left holding the bag due to the greed of the airlines.

It has been estimated that US domestic airlines will increase their profits by $6bn in 2016 because of fuel costs dropping. It is time for the airlines to come back down to earth (as it were) with prices more in line for the consumer's pocketbook.

Please sign this petition to send a message to the major airlines that consumers will not tolerate greed any longer.

We, the undersigned, call upon the airlines of the world to reduce their price points for tickets to a more consumer friendly level.

Consumers will no longer accept the excuse of fuel costs for high ticket prices due to the stabilization and reduction of fuel pricing.
