This is a petition calling on NI Health Minister to renegotiate with NICE to ensure residents of Northern Ireland suffer no disadvantage , compared to those elsewhere in the UK, when it comes to access to (and trials for ) specialist cancer drugs .

This peition comes on the back of a media article regarding the case of Melanie Kennedy, a mother-of-two who is battling breast cancer and is being refused life altering drugs on the NHS in Northern Ireland. These drugs are available in England.

It is unfair and discriminatory that one part of the UK should be eligible for these medications and another isn't. The following links will provide all the relevant information. We believe this could be funded out of the DHSSPS budget, it is important that patients have the opportunity to wide range of medication.
