#Law Reform
Target:
Nova Scotia Legislature
Region:
Canada

Though the legalization of marijuana for recreational use has been initiated and led by the federal government, the Nova Scotia government has not indicated whether it is going to adopt the recommendations from the Task Force on Cannabis Legalization and Regulation report.
The task force recommended that production standards of cannabis for recreational use be regulated by the federal government to ensure consistent standards across the country with respect to such things as fertilizer and pesticide use, fungi and bacteria controls, as well as THC and CBD potencies.
Other than these quality-control mechanisms, the regulation of production would be left to the provinces. The task force recommended the adoption of a “competitive private-sector production model,” not a Crown corporation model.
Don't let the Nova Scotia Government seize control of the sale of marijuana as it has with the NSLC and the sales of alcohol,

We the undersigned call on the Nova Scotia Government to adopt the recommendations from the Task Force on Cannabis Legalization and Regulation report, calling for the adoption of a “competitive private-sector production model,”
in regards to the sales of Cannabis in Nova Scotia.
