Page Moss is the second poorest area in Knowsley, and has been for a number of years.
John Crawford ha been the Pastor at Trinity church for 10 of those years. In that time he has provided Pastoral carer for the Congregation but more importantly has been a tremendous pillar of support and comfort in the local community. Even though the majority of these people do not come to main stream church John has taken his time to get to know them and listen to their stories and Provided practical help and has given them a listening ear, comfort, support. He has treated everyone them with the dignity and respect they each deserve. nothing has ever been too much trouble.
Despite there being other churches in the area non of their leaders have shown any interest in our community.
We have now been told that John's Contract is not being renewed despite the great work he does both inside the church walls and in the wider community..
We the undersigned respectfully ask that the matter of Pastor John Crawford's Contract renewal be reconsidered and that he be allowed to retain his post and continue to represent and support the community around Trinity Church. The foundation of the Christian Faith is to "love on another has Jesus has loved us" and to Love thy neighbour. John Crawford has been an amazing ambassador for the Christian Faith by doing this on a daily basis. to terminate his contract would leave this area in a very sorry state. Page Moss is already deprived of Social and Economic stability; we would be putting these families at risk of not experiencing the Gospel or of receiving salvation. I do not believe that this is what God wants in this area. so we ask both the Anglicans and the Methodists to reconsider and let John keep serving the Lord and Page Moss as Pastor at Trinity Church.
Faith tells me that God will provide the resources, if you have the faith to reconsider.
