While supervising my two year old son, my four year old son went missing at the Whangarei Town Basin Children's Park.
I eventually found him playing with another child over the edge of the board walk playing amongst the rocks and mangroves of the Whangarei Harbor.
This could have easily ended tragically!
To prevent this from ever happening I would like the Whangarei District council to fully ring fence the park with childproof Safety fencing and gates.
We, the undersigned, call upon the Whangarei District Council to fully ring fence the Whangarei Town Basin Children's park with childproof safety fencing and gates to provide protection for our children from the dangerous Whangarei Harbor, the town basin car park and the very busy Lower Dent Street.
