Mr Hinch, who was jailed briefly in 1987 for naming a pedophile priest, accepted that he could go to jail for a maximum of five years and pay a $60,000 fine.
Mr Hinch has been charged with five offences after allegedly naming a pair of sex offenders in breach of Victorian County Court suppression orders.
The high-profile broadcaster has taken his case to the High Court, arguing the orders are constitutionally invalid.
Mr Hinch said he believed what he did was morally right and was now set to argue that before the court.

It is an expectation of each individual to maintain and promote a safe environment for all children and for those who are unable to defend themselves.
