Campbelltown Council has been looking to see which Reserves are 'under-used' so that they can be put to other uses, thus saving money in maintenance and gaining money by selling the land.
What we believe is the first Reserve to go is Baden Powell Reserve which is planned to be used for housing.
We believe these green spaces should be left for community use so that Campbelltown, supposed to be a Green city, retains its rural feel and does not end up as just another inner-city concrete jungle.
Campbelltown Council is planning to sell our Reserves and Playing Fields for housing development and we believe only public outrage can prevent this.
We, the undersigned, call on Local and State Government to keep our Green areas for public recreation, wildlife and wildlife corridors and to secure them for future generations to enjoy.
