Developers are looking to add additional retail and office space at One Naper Plaza (Naper and Diehl). This will add further congestion to an already busy and dangerous intersection.
This is also a gateway property for the NE corner of Naperville. Additional retail and office space is unnecessary and will lead to greater unsightly vacancies.
PETITION OPPOSING VACATING OF SPECIAL USE AND REZONING OF ONE NAPER PLAZA AT NAPERVILLE ROAD AND DIEHL ROAD
We, the undersigned residents of the City of Naperville, hereby express our opposition to the development of a strip mall and parking garage on the east side of Naperville Road at Diehl Road. It is our belief that such zoning and development at the primary entrance to the City of Naperville is inappropriate and contrary to the best interest of the City and its residents. The spot zoning for a strip mall will create an intensive and unattractive use right at the entrance of our City and will cause further traffic congestion at the intersection.
We further oppose the construction of a large parking structure at that location which is proposed to be served by residential streets.
