Effective, May 1, 2010 the State of Michigan will institute a no smoking ban in all Bingo Halls and Bowling Facilities. Michigan currently has a highest unemployment rate. The State of Michigan has more sanctioned bowlers than any other state in the union.
There are several chuches and non profit organizations such as the Kindey Foundation who host bingo games in the State of Michigan. These groups have seen significant drops in their tithing and donations. This iis due to the jobless rate in this state. There was a no-smoking ban in implemented in Windsor, Ontario Canada in casinos and bingo halls, which caused the casino to lay-off workers and close 75% of the bingo halls. The Mayor of Windsor is quoted as saying "the smoking ban was the worst thing we could have done".
We, the undersigned, call on the State of Michigan to repeal the no smoking ban in bingo halls and in Bowling Facilities (during league bowling).
