Background (Preamble):
The Defense of Marriage Act is a federal law that was passed in 1996 during the Clinton Administration.
The law defines marriage as exclusively between a man and a woman, and provides that no state is required to acknowledge a marriage from another state if it is between two partners of the same sex.
This law is in violation of the Tenth Amendment of the Constitution and the Equal Protection Clause.

We, the undersigned, call on President Barack Obama to work to repeal DOMA immediately.
