The Animal Welfare Laws, in the Republic of Ireland are outdated and in need of reform. The penalties for abuse of animals are minimal and insufficient.
We need new laws, a new licensing system for animals and existing laws enforced.
We the undersigned, call on the Irish Government. To introduce new laws, penalties and mandatory sentencing for the abuse and neglect of animals.
We also call for a new licensing system, similar to that of Automobile Licensing laws and to apply too owners not animals.
We also demand, you consult with Animal welfare Organisations when drafting new legislation and systems.
