Two Ministers have secretly negotiated on behalf of he Government of St. Maarten the development of a monstrosity of a project that will destroy the last remaining wetlands and its wildlife, that will overburden the carrying capacity of the island, that will not be beneficial to the local workforce and the local residents in general.
The project's aim is to have 336 rooms, 450 apartments and a showroom built on a piece of property located at the Belair beach and adjacent to one of St. Maarten's last remaining wetlands.
The fact that this deal has been negotiated without the input of stakeholders or even informing other Ministers and Parliament of such huge project smells like corruption. We have to stop this project before it starts!
