The reason for the petition is to demonstrate to the County Council of Oconee County, SC, the overwhelming opposition to the attempts to regulate private property rights through zoning.
Petition:
We, the undersigned, are property owners, registered voters, or both in Oconee County, SC and we oppose zoning. I oppose any and all attempts to control my private property or my neighbor's private property by means of zoning.
I oppose any attempts to regulate the use of my property or my neighbor's property by those who do not own it or by elected or appointed government officials.
