The BBC have asked for input on the subject - Finding the 'missing' schoolchildren - in the - Have Your Say - section.

As the question is worded as follows -
Has your child been excluded from school and not returned to education? Do you know somebody who has disappeared from any school register?

A BBC investigation is looking into reports that thousands of children go missing from the school register each year. These are children who have apparently fallen off the radar, "the disappeared", as one government agency put it.

They are not necessarily children who have been permanently excluded, but children who are completely unknown to the authorities. They may, for example, have been taken to another area by their parents and not enrolled in a new school.

-I believe this implies that they are asking for information on home educated children people know of.It is perfectly legal to Home educate children and obviously they do not need to be registered with a school. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/talking_point/6657443.stm

We, the undersigned, ask that the BBC remove or re-word their -Have Your Say- request for input on the subject of -Finding the 'missing' schoolchildren-it is badly worded and implies these children should be registered with the authorities.

The 'Missing' children not really missing petition to BBC was written by elaine walton and is in the category Children's Rights at GoPetition.
