Region: Canada
Target: Nova Scotia Department of Transportation & Nova Scotia Department of Justice
Background (Preamble):
Currently in the province of Nova Scotia Radar Detectors are Illegal. There are Provinces within Canada where Radar Detectors are legal to use.

The purpose of this petition is not to allow drivers to speed knowing there are no radar traps in the vicinity but its to level the playing field between drivers and the police.

The police have gone from setting up speed traps on the side of the road in plain view to hiding in bushes and trees in the wooded areas of the highway. They have even been known to sit in lawn chairs 20 feet high on cliffs along the edge of the road in shrubs to catch motorists not excessively speeding but just a little over the limit on stretches of highway were the speed limit has been purposely been lowered for the intention of generating cash flow by catching unsuspecting motorists slightly over the posted limit.

If the police are going to hide with their radar equipment then we as motorists have the right to equally know when we are being watched.
Petition:
We, the undersigned, call on the Province of Nova Scotia to remove the ban of radar detectors on our provincial highways.
