The United States maintains a comprehensive economic embargo on the Republic of Cuba. In February 1962, President John F. Kennedy proclaimed an embargo on trade between the United States and Cuba, in response to certain actions taken by the Cuban Government, and directed the Departments of Commerce and the Treasury to implement the embargo, which remains in place today.
Such embargo has had no effect on the Cuban government but on the citizens of Cuba affecting their lifestyle,affecting them to the point that the actual government can't provide to the cuban citizens basic needs such as food supplies,medicines,proper medical treatment, among other basic needs.
The ratio of poverty and sickness in cuba has increased since president Donald Trump placed cuba in the terrorist list and reinforced the embargo against Cuba.
Back during the Obama administration a travel ban against cuba was lifted temporarily,a ban on monetary exchanged was lifted and so the cuban government was able to freely supply their citizens with the basic needs because the US citizens were able to travel to cuba and freely spend money in tourism,small business owners, etc etc ..but that all ended .
Today I am asking for you to sign this petition to lift the travel ban and monetary restrictions against Cuba.
With US citizens traveling to Cuba it will freely open a channel to exchange of cultures and at the same time thousands of opportunities will open to small business owners that will flourish the cuban economic through Cuba and being able to provide their families with basic needs.
please sign this petition to show our president that we citizens of the US do want to travel to Cuba and see a new Cuba to prove that the horrible embargo against Cuba has been nothing but an old US Russia macho fight we should not have to support any longer..to give those in need a new opportunity to change their lives..we should not make suffer those that are paying consequences of a failed policy imposed over 50 years ago
