Ben Charles David Lightbody, 21, Brett Michael Henry Neville, 26, Casey Mitchell Parker, 21, Geoffrey Martin Symonds, 20, Darryl Stephen Llewellin, 26, and Christopher James Murray, 19 are members of the Australian Army and have recently been found guilty of cruelty to animals.

It was reported on television and in newspaper articles that the abovementioned individuals performed acts of cruelty to a litter of defenceless kittens. They were reported to have dragged one of them behind a vehicle and set the other kittens on fire.

In view of these charges I believe that they are not fit to serve in the Australian Army.

We, the undersigned, request that Ben Charles David Lightbody, 21, Brett Michael Henry Neville, 26, Casey Mitchell Parker, 21, Geoffrey Martin Symonds, 20, Darryl Stephen Llewellin, 26, and Christopher James Murray, 19 be discharged from the Australian Army on the grounds of charges brought against them for cruelty to animals.

We, the undersigned, believe the abovementioned persons are not fit to serve in the Australian Army and should be discharged immediately.

The Australian Army should adopt a policy of zero tolerance for this type of behaviour and persons displaying any type of cruelty to animals or persons should not have the opportunity to represent the Armed Forces in this country.
