Leona Lewis' song "My Hands" is not a bad song, by any means.

Leona Lewis' song was chosen by the developers, so any claims that it is not appropriate to the game is audacious, presumptuous and disrespectful to the developers.

"My Hands", being of the English language, is more likely to make the game more accessible to certain groups and increase the fanbase of the Final Fantasy series. Conversely, keeping the song at the Japanese version's "Kimi ga iru kara" by Sayuri Sugawara would have a chance of deterring these groups and restrict the number of people who buy both Final Fantasy XIII and future Final Fantasy and Square Enix titles.
Leona Lewis is kinda hot, Sayuri Sugawara is kinda not.

We, the undersigned, call on Square Enix to continue their plans to include Leona Lewis's song "My Hands" in the English-language release of Final Fantasy XIII.
