About 5 years ago Riley school was in complete disarray, I am told that we had a revolving door of principals in an effort to replace a principal that was terminated. It is my understanding that this lack of consistency put a huge strain on our school and the staff. The superintendent at the time (Dr. Rosado) asked Mr. Czech to be the principal at Riley to help our school get back on track. At that time Mr. Czech fully disclosed that Mrs. Zablocki was his sister.

Mr. Czech also stated that at the time, Mrs. Zablocki had been a teacher at Riley for 20 years and did not want to see her position jeopardized. Dr. Rosado assured Mr. Czech that the relationship would not be a problem. Mrs. Zablocki would have to be evaluated by someone other than Mr. Czech. This has been in place for the last five years. This year a new nepotism policy was established. This new policy causes a conflict with Mr. Czech’s and Mrs. Zablocki’s relationship and is apparently the basis for the decision to move one of them.

This petition will demonstrate our solidarity and disapproval if this matter continues to be an ongoing perceived issue and further attempts are made to remove either Mr. Czech or Mrs. Zablocki.

In the interest of educational continuity we,the undersigned call on Superintendent Jose Negron and the South Plainfield Board of Education to refrain from transfering Mr. Czech and/or Mrs. Zablocki out of John E. Riley Elementry School.
