WE ARE OVERPOPULATED! STOP THE GREED~THIS PROBLEM IS CHRONIC, WIDESPREAD, AND NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED LOGICALLY. WE CANNOT CONTINUE EUTHANIZING AND DESTROYING SHELTER ANIMALS WITHOUT RIGHTS FOR THEM. ONLY LICENSED BREEDERS SHOULD BE ABLE TO BREED, WITH AN ANNUAL LIMIT! 72K DOGS WERE EUTHANIZED LAST YEAR IN NJ SHELTERS ALONE, WE ARE OVERPOPULATED! LET'S END THE MADNESS!
OUR GOAL IS TO BE 100,000 SIGNATURES STRONG ! WE ARE AIMING TO LIMIT THE BREEDING OF PETS, TO DECREASE THE NUMBER OF HOMELESS PETS, ENFORCING A GOVERNMENT PROGRAM TO MAKE IT MANDATORY TO SPAY/NEUTER YOUR DOG AND CAT. A PET IS NOT A FINANCIAL INVESTMENT, AND THE PROFIT FROM SELLING PUPPIES IS ALL UNDECLARED CASH! WE NEED TO HAVE SWIFT PENALTIES AND FINES FOR THOSE WHO ARE UNWILLING AND RECALCITRANT. THEY ARE CONTRIBUTORS OF THE PROBLEM!
ONLY EXPERIENCED BREEDERS SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO BREED. WE ALSO PROPOSE A HEALTHY PET/RESPONSIBLE PET OWNER TAX CUT, PER PET! STOP THE MILLIONS OF KILLINGS ANNUALLY IN THE U.S.!
Dear Governor Christie,
With every passing day approximately 200 dogs/400 cats are euthanized in the state of NJ alone. That's 72K dogs, and 144K felines annually. Yet while visiting Facebook's Oodle Marketplace, Craigslist, Ebay Classifieds, etc..... it's rather disturbing to discover that irresponsible pet owners~turned backyard breeders have made a business of their family pets. They are advertising for studs, "pimping out" their family pet, so to speak, and selling "teacup" designer dogs too, which are actually a genetic defect, not a desired breed and certainly not bred by experienced breeders.
There are far too many unwanted pets that die every SINGLE day because there are not enough loving homes available. We would benefit greatly from a gov't program providing free/low cost sterility programs for EVERYONE, not just low~income families. American people should be rewarded with a HEALTHY PET(S)/RESPONSIBLE PET(S) OWNER TAX CUT! Our hard earned wages are paying for salaries for shelter employees who show, feed, walk, bathe, these unfortunate, homeless pets, only to euthanize them simply because of overcrowding! A tremendous expense!
If you were to make it illegal to have/breed an intact pet, with punishable monetary fines and in certain cases even prison sentences, this would certainly abort the overcrowding at shelters, which would be a considerable reduction in overhead, too. The time MUST CEASE that your loyal furry family member has become your cash cow.
Too many healthy, young, middle~aged and senior homeless pets are dying daily and need your help today. Within three to five short years of passing said bill, there could be enough funding available within a 100 mile radius in each state to build sanctuaries for homeless pets. This is a chronic, persistent problem we only see as becoming worse without passing a national law for animal welfare. Governor Christie, please save the animals today.
